Your initial consultation will last for 30 minutes, and during this time we will chat through your medical history and the symptoms you are experiencing. This will allow us to assess whether a GP referral will be required. Once we have gathered all the information we need, your back and relevant joints will be examined with your permission. The examination, combined with the information from your case history, will be explained to you with a formative diagnosis. Treatment forms part of your initial consultation, and we adjust the pressure so that you are comfortable throughout your appointment. This treatment will aim to reduce inflammation and muscle spasms, ultimately providing effective and significant pain relief.

The following techniques may be used throughout your sessions with Walsh Osteopathy: 

• Manipulation - If comfortable this technique may be used. The movement can sometimes be accompanied by a clicking sound.
• Soft tissue techniques - A technique using light and firm pressure.
• Articulation - Gentle joint movements
